Thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. -2 Corinthians 2:14 NIV84
This verse just begs the question: what do you smell like? No, I’m not asking if you showered today or anything. I’m asking if you smell of the sweet fragrance of the knowledge of God.
Have you ever gone without showering for a couple days? You smell yourself and you don’t really think you smell bad. But everyone around you thinks you smell like a dead yak. Why is that? Because when you sit in a smell constantly, you eventually don’t smell it anymore.
That is how God’s knowledge should be. It should just be a part of your life, something you don’t even notice anymore, but everyone else is fully aware of.
We all want to smell of God’s knowledge, but sometimes, we smell of other things, like addictions or depression. It’s time to hit the showers, and grab some God cologne, by picking up the Bible every day and spending some time in prayer with God. In that way, you begin to smell pretty darn good.
