I realized tonight: dreams are free
The gravity in the room at the moment I seemed to apprehend this idea was too much to bear.
I began to weep.
dreams are free.
Free.
In the last part of 2 Samuel 24
King David heads out to build an altar to the Lord on the threshing floor. The location where he was directed to build the altar was owned by a man in David’s kingdom. David had every right to demand it, but he didn’t. He had the army to take it, but he didn’t. The man bowed to King David upon his arrival and offered the threshing floor, tools, and oxen for free.
In response King David proclaimed resolutely that he can not present an offering to the Lord that costs him nothing.
So David bought the mans threshing floor, tools, and oxen. He then presented his offering to the Lord.
Dreams are Free.
Dreams.
Most of Jeremiah 23 talk about bad prophets. I am not a prophet, but I do believe there is a message written in it for me; In about the middle of the chapter Jeremiah says this:
“Let the prophet who has a dream tell his dream, but let him who has my Word speak it faithfully. For what has straw to do with grain?” declares the Lord.” verse 28.
DREAMS ARE FREE.
My Realization.
My current dreams mean zero to Most Holy God if they cost me nothing. I have been the dreamer, but I have not used God’s Word to help me strive toward my dream. I have been passive, I have been the worst thing a Christian can be: apathetic.
My Desire.
We are ALL, every Christian is required witness to the lost. I want to chase the opportunity to do so.
We are ALL called to reach out to our community. I want to show God’s love, grace, and mercy to people.
I was called to deliver this message. I want to keep making sure my dreams demand sacrifice, and that I am up to the task.
Ministry is NEVER free.
Ministry is NEVER free.
Ministry is NEVER free.
